Think This is Easy? Disability Awareness Training provides individuals a hands-on, simulated learning experience and training relating to the barriers and differences of individuals with disabilities. The participants will gain knowledge and experience to better prepare them for working with individuals with cognitive impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments, dexterity impairments, and speech impairments. Our training focuses on the participant gaining vital awareness to the differences of these disabilities and allowing them to recognize how they can better work with the individuals.
The simulated experiences provide a form of learning that is highly effective in understanding the things that the participants may have considered an easy task. Gaining this knowledge can better prepare the participant for understanding the difficulties an individual with a disability may be experiencing and how they will have to consider these factors.
If you know of individuals or agencies that are seeking a unique training opportunity for, themselves or their staff, please consider this training.
The cost of the training is $80.00/individual receiving CEU hours (CEUs are not currently available). Discounts are available to nonprofit agencies. Use the link below to register, there is a limit of 8 individuals per session.
